New features:
- New gui for list and details views, see screenshots
- New database loading functions and building views functions. Loading and displaying databases is now really fast, even for very large databases.
- Leaving the App by standby or phone-call interrupt, the database will get closed (thanks to jschuster)
- Tap on username will copy the username to the clipboard
- Tap on password will copy the password to the clipboard
- Tap on the URL will open the URL and copy the password to the clipboard
- GUI user feedback when something is copied to the clipboard
- Comments will display all lines.
- “Close” button will return to the login dialog.
We will do some more testing over the weekend and then submit this version at the beginning of the next week.
Hi…
@chris
Gruss
Olli
@Olli
Kick ass man, thank you for your continued support. I’ve purchased it and can’t wait to see these features implemented.
@chris
Hi Karsten,
I just downloaded iKeePass v1.2, and it works great with one exception: the search function doesn’t return any results, regardless of the search string used. Do you have a fix for this?
Thanks a lot for your hard work on this app!
I’m using the latest KeePass for PC, which uses .kdbx files. The previous version of iKeepass for iPhone only accepts .kdb files and the one exported from my PC version could not be read by my iPhone version. Is this the proper way to export from my PC version to the iPhone version?
I just filed bug 2950410 at SourceForge. I can open the kdb database, but I cannot open any entries with 1.2.

iKeePass 1.2 is out in the AppStore! It appears to be numbered 1.1 by Apple, but in the ‘About’ box it is listed as 1.2. Congrats to Karsten and everyone helping him for a great release. This one seems much more polished and consistent. The graphics and icons are definitely improved as well. The Search bar does not appear to be operational, but that’s not a big deal.
The next thing that would be cool would be the *option* to open URLs inside of iKeePass, instead of closing it and opening Safari. Again, small change, not a big deal.
I would also suggest updating the screenshot posted in the iTunes app store, and maybe even adding a few more. The current one does not do the app justice!
thanks for the update, and keep up the awesome job!
Same error as Mr. Reilly above. Same database as before, I can see the entries in ‘backup’ but not ‘general’.
Fix for missing entries (to Reilly & Andres).
I was able to see the entries in General after creating a new entry under General on the desktop. That is, you need at least one entry under General that is NOT a group. Once I created a “test” entry, and reloaded the kdb onto the iPhone, iKeePass was able to see everything.
Hope that helps.

Still clips comments.
The current version is a big improvement, but long comments and multi-line comments are still truncated (though more of the comments are displayed then with old versions).

re. Reilly and Andres
I had the same problem. The (temporary) solution is to remove the “General” group and move all of the subgroups (that were under “General”) to the top level the hierarchy. You can do this easily within the desktop KeePass by highlighting the group and clicking Alt-”Left Arrow” to move it over.
I’m having problems with Comments/Notes – the box is only large enough for three lines (less than half the size of the screenshot above). Anyone else having that issue? Also, the fonts seem large – maybe related??? Thanks.
I’m having the same issue as andres & George. Database opens but cannot get beyond General Folder. What’s up? I bought this app ’cause I’ve used KeePOass happily for years. Please fix!!
Downloading .kdb file from a web site ( Dropbox ) only downloads 661 bytes. the file size is 35kb. Keepass version 1.x on the local machine can open/update the file.
I had the same error as George and Andres above, but I discovered that it was because I had groups with subgroups and that if a group did not have an entry, it would stop loading any subgroups below it. My workaround was to create dummy entries for all of my groups without entries that had subgroups and then they would load properly. This is definitely a bug, but hopefully my workaround helps others.
Oh hey, fixed my own problem. I put one entry in the root ‘general’ folder and now it works great!
I followed Andres’ lead and put a dummy entry in my root General folder. iKeePass now works.
Actually, I needed to put dummy entries into every folder that contained only subfolders.
This is an improvement but is still buggy. I have had the same problem as Andres and George with the folders that wouldn’t open. Only two of my six folders would open until putting in a dummy entry (thanks for the tip!)…then they could be seen.
The other problem is that the search doesn’t really work. Nothing I’ve been searching for is listed. I hope those problems are fixed soon.
I know that this is basically a one-man show in getting this program online, but it’s frustrating to have so many problems for so long. I also downloaded a new competing program “MyKeepass” that works well and has a search that actually works…but right now the only way to get the database on the iPhone is over a wifi link, so changes are not updated automatically. At least iKeepass lets you use dropbox to keep the database online. I use several computers, Mac and PC, and having one common database is really important.
Please fix these two bugs soon, Karsten.
Great App! Please fix it so the search feature works! Once that is done, it will be perfect! Thanks for your work on this!
Carl
I’ve purchased it – in hopes that we come up with a viable solution to do https authentication and (if its possible) kdbx file support.
The initial settings GUI needs help – confusing to get working, but I eventually figured it out.
