We are close to release iKeePass on the Apple AppStore. First we have to go through the BIS process (iKeePass uses cryptography) but that is quite confusing to me. Any help with this will be appropriate. Finalizing that process iKeePass can be added to the Apple AppStore. Hopefully that will not take more than a week to get published. The first 10 users who send me the iPhone Identify Number will get a beta version of iKeePass by email. To get your iPhone device identify number, connect your iPhone to iTunes and open the overview page, click on the entry serial number and you will see the 40 byte number.
Update: Please do not send any new identify numbers. Our beta tester list is now complete.
While you mention just the iPhone, I assume this will also work just fine on an iPod Touch?
I could beta test it, if needed. My keepass db has 530 entries in 21 groups.
Awe shucks – your not accepting any more beta testers.
As you are close to a release, will you be posting the source soon? You had previously stated that you would release the source before the application.
I am quite interested to start testing this application myself.
Now in beta…I’ll download it in a nano-second!
Excellent work!!!
Just wanted to say thanks for working on this!
Damn, I can’t wait for your beautifal app. Please let me know if you’re looking for more testers.
I’ve 2G iPod Touch and a v1 Keepass DB.
Pwetty please.
Many thanks for your great work on this.
Damn, I hoped I made it on the list of beta testers. Seems I didn’t if Enrique already was able to download it.
Really looking forward to the first release.
I’m curious about how we will get our keepass file into the phone since data isn’t usually able to be transferred directly to the phone for such things.
It’s great that you are working on an iPhone version of
KeePass. THANKS !
I agree that for the first release a read-only version
is very acceptable.
Are you required by law or technical restrictions to go
throught the iTunes store as distribution channel?
Otherwise I would assume, it would be more then enough
to publish the aavailability on the KeePass home page.
@Thomas: The Apple Application store is the only official technical way to distribute applications to the iPhone. There are other possibilities, all of them need a hack of the iPhone. This is not the direction I want to go.
@Lance: Source code will be published after Apple has added iPhone to the App Store for some legal and nda reasons.
@Oliver: iKeePass will also run on a iPhone Touch.
Any news yet?
Really looking forward to the first release.
Thanks for working on this!
cant wait for this to become available
might even pry open my wallet for it
When is this going to be available. I’ve been waiting now for 6 months.
